The number of bank failures in Massachusetts is barely a blip on the screen compared to other states in the country. A total of 165 banks have failed since the beginning of 2008. Many were in California, Florida, Illinois / Michigan / Ohio, and in Texas. (The biggest, of course, was in Washington – Washington Mutual.) Few, if any, were in New England.
